10 Players to Watch - FIBA U17 Women's World Cup games start next Saturday

I'd like to have Auriemma check into the availability of this Sara Okeke of Spain. A quick, aggressive, 6-4 post who likes contact and has all kinds of offensive potential. There's not many of these type of athletes at this size in the US right now, have to go out and find them.
I agree with you, she put Lara Somfai and her team in trouble right from the start, with just over 3 minutes to play in the game, when Lara took her second foul on her. Her impressive stats at the end of the game showed, 28 pts, 10 rebounds and efficiency of 33.

The USA team, who was down by 16 in the middle of the 3rd quarter to France in the semifinals, tightened up the defense and wound up winning by 18 !!
Robinson led the way with 29 points.
The USA overwhelmed France on the boards.

Was really surprised at the shooting percentages at half time. Felt like if she wasn't there, this game would have been very different.

Agot Makeer on Saturday:

21 points (6-12 FG, 8-11 FT), 12 rebs, 4 assists, 5 steals

Outside of one game, she's been a monster.

Yes she has, but she's showing signs of vulnerability here and there which she has to watch out for tonight. Her over and back turnover late in the fourth had me very nervous. Tonight should be interesting.

Results of the Day Spain vs Canada

This is a huge step forward for the Canadian program. Their first medal of any kind at the U17 level. Couldn't be more excited for these girls. And I'm over the moon excited for the head coach because she's been helping develop talented players for a long time. Thought she'd been overlooked by Canada Basketball for too long.

Sorry, but this time I think you're wrong. This will be Canada's second medal at WWC U17. In 2012, Canada defeated Japan in the bronze medal match. You might remember that, though, because that team featured a certain Kia Nurse. But perhaps you meant that Canada is certain to have the best result in its history at WWC U17, which has been running since 2010.

You're right. Forgot about 2012. Thanks for the correction.
