Gilbert came out with 2 fouls with 7:17 left in the Nova game. The offense scored 4 points and had 5 turnovers the rest of the half and UConn went down 6. He came back in, UConn immediately went on a run.
Last night, AG came out once in the second half. The next 3 possessions were an airball and 2 turnovers. The lead disappeared. AG came in, UConn immediately regained the lead.
The guy has to play 30+ minutes with the ball in his hands and two defenders collapsing on him night in and night out because every coach knows we have zero other options to handle the ball at this level .
For all of the crushing late-game mistakes, AG on the court vs. not is the difference this team between being in it until the end and continuing to be a national laughingstock losing by 20-30 to these teams right now.
