I look at it this way. It’s a great opportunity to set the tone for the season in a positive way.
Obviously the other side of that coin exists too. But these players and this regime should target these two games as the litmus test.
Pound for pound we saw how freshman can impact a game from last night’s chip.
It’s possible for some of these guys to really give us a spark.

3. Temple -our true AAC rival

5. Cincy -Cincy has a big recruiting class- but do we have the better QBs?
6. Rhode Island - could this be the year we hold an FCS school to less than 10 points?

I'm not going to focus on the odds and likely outcomes....instead I'm going to think about the marketing pitch for each one (hat tip to Carl) and the stupid trophy each game deserves that should have been fashioned out of Diaco's breakfast budget.

3. Loser is prohibited from recruiting within 90 miles of the other's campus the following season. No more Isiah Wrights and Tyler M's to Temple!
4. UMass - needs a regionally inspired trophy. I like a giant roll of CT tobacco like a cornucopia over flowing with nutmeg.
5. The Vann Brothers Bowl? A Vann Brothers trophy is in order.
6. I'll let Rhode Island build the trophy for this one. Pick something nice for us. Maybe go with a submarine theme.

Clearly you didn’t get my point where I said pound for pound.
