If we're searching for a reason, a victory would give us the all-time record for conference wins in a season in the Big East I believe. Not worth an injury to a starter but its something.
He did not. Said that nobody really knows what things wi ultimately look like but that the SEC and Big 10 sure look like they want to decide the rules.
Half of the of the already sparse student section bailed at halftime. We had some good UConn chants but I’m not sure if they came across on TV. This was a neutral court environment at worst: Hurley with a nice acknowledgement of the traveling support on his way out. AD Dave spent 20 minutes...
D: three Q1 wins with two being very strong. Power/resume competitive with the other candidates. Lots of road wins and no bad losses.
E: similar to "D" but a bit shaky in Q2 and only three R/N wins.
F: a couple very good wins and several road wins. Best record/conference record of the group...
The game dragged on forever but it did also start late because of the SJU/Xavier game running long. Interestingly, the SJU/X game had just set the record for most combined fouls in a Big East game this season. That is until our game was over.
The country club I belonged to when I lived in CT had a couple courts but they called it "platform tennis". It was just the older members that played and they loved it. I had never seen it anywhere before. I wonder what made it finally take off on a broad basis.
If he is healthy enough to give us 15 minutes and Samson can manage to stay on the court for 20 minutes we would only need to resort to the small ball lineup for five minutes, preferably when Kalk sits.
Honest question, is he even G-League material? I saw a piece on him and it sounded like his ranking was dropping like a stone even before the legal issues. At the end they made it sound like he was more of an internet sensation than an impactful basketball player.
I could see it going either way. Even with the loss, a reasonable person could make an argument that Purdue's resume is still better than ours. Having said that, winning @Butler and Xavier (by no means a given) aren't all that sexy but they are Quad 1 wins nonetheless.
This. I don't know the exact nature or severity of the injury but as an example, a torn ACL used to mean a month plus of complete immobilization in a cast. Now they have you moving it hours after surgery. Could he injure it again? Sure. He originally injured when there was not prior injury...
I would take 4-2 in a heartbeat. If the SHU and SJU games are any indication of what we can expect, 2-4 or 3-3 look like distinct possibilities. Maybe things improve with more reps for the new group of starters and maybe the shooting improves to where we think it should be but with a borderline...
It seems that at least the last handful of years we have gotten off the mediocre starts in conference. The schedule sets up for a solid start this year and it would be nice to not have to play catchup after a few weeks.
Welcome back and glad to hear everyone is ultimately OK. You will see plenty of speculation about what happened to you and this was one of the scarier possibilities. Yikes. Again, welcome back.
He brought life to the game during a period when everyone else seemed to be sleepwalking. We were potentially opening the door for a Gonzaga comeback but a few key individual plays in a short span by Diarra shut that door.
115-105? If my math is correct, the total in-conference record needs to be 110-110, no? Unless teams figure out how to win without their opponent losing.
