The market dictates how much a player gets paid. QBs at elite power 4 schools get huge money. The fact that Beck maybe spent some of his money foolishly shouldn’t change anything.
Is this a joke? Did you see some of the players who opted out? Not saying FSU would win but basically their entire starting team including a few high draft picks opted out.
I don’t disagree that the transfer portal is negatively effecting every bowl except playoffs but when you really look at it, bowls during the BCS era have been meaningless.
It’s a cool game for fans of the teams to watch and provides a couple of weeks extra practice (which I think has been way...
I have zero doubt UCONN will be invited if the ACC is poached. It no longer will be a P-5 conference and the pickings will be slim. UCONN will be a logical choice to add.
Meh. I think we are looking at two mega conferences and I can’t see them having any interest in UCONN.
Maybe Big 12 will add them? But I am guessing they go for some ACC teams first.
I mean if we don’t get invited to the carcass that will be the ACC (programs will be poached by SEC, Big 10 and Big 12) then you can officially stick a fork in the program.
I don’t think that’s the main issue - it’s money - the Big Ten and SEC tv contracts are so much more than ACC.
I think either way ACC becomes AAC and UCONN still is stuck with the have nots.
I think there will still be a lot of pickups from the portal/JUCO but I’m guessing based on who we signed that we are near the bottom of the rankings at this point. Hoping it changes.
Schools pay insane amounts of money for qbs. If a qb has a modicum of success here, they will be gone the following year. Stinks but it is what it is.
I just want to get to the point where that happens because then it means UCONN had a good season.
I think countless studies would refute your statement. Gen Z, at least from a work perspective, value work/life balance far more than previous generations. It’s not all about the money from work point of view at least.
I am amazed he parlayed poor college numbers, poor nfl play into a couple of million dollars. Local kid so happy for him. Just no idea how he stuck around so long.
Forgot about Marinellis’s crybaby act. Any head coach of a high school football program who steers kids away from a program because of pettiness is pretty pathetic.
When I watched him play for Notre Dame I can only characterize his playing style as “scared”. Happy feet.
My concern is how he would do here with far less weapons on offense. He is an improvement but definitely think he is in 3rd or 4th tier of portal qbs.
Agreed. He is going to want to transfer to a team with an obvious open qb position (UCONN has) with offensive weapons (UCONN doesn’t have) and a good offensive system (UCONN doesn’t have).
I think he goes to a mid tier G5.
Makes me wonder when the ACC is plundered if Big East Football comes back. Obviously would look very different but would be a geographically logical conference. At this point that’s all we can ask for.
BC, UCONN, Delaware, Temple, UMASS, a Virginia school or two (Virginia Tech and James...
And that’s a fair post too. What is the best result for UCONN going forward. They aren’t getting into a Power conference (and no the ACC will not be a power conference after they are raided and offer UCONN a spot). They don’t play in any conference. There is zero direction.
Small amounts make...
