    Expectations for this year?

I've given you a very hard time about your irrational exuberance, but you've been a good sport. As for my real expectations, there will be struggles, as we have a lot of new pieces. But I'd like to think we'll win 24-25 games and make the Sweet 16.

Blauds: UConn / BC all but official

I kind of enjoy their fans and I like playing them. There is a decent amount of comedy involved, a few solid posters and the irrational exuberance of the sleeping giant bandwagon. I wish we had developed a rivalry game with them.

Athlon: Top 50 CBB Coaches for 2015-2016

Bittersweet memory for me. Tried to get people to reconsider investing in the dot com bubble years ahead of the crash. Most perceived me as the irrational one. Much more fun being a purveyor of happy prognostications as opposed to being a doomsayer.

1-3 in the next 4 games and we'd still be in a great position

...so we wouldn't have to do that. I'm expecting 2-2 min. I want 3-1, all we need to do is defend the hail mary. 4-0 if we win this week. It's like a shelter for abused animals around here. How about a little irrational exuberance while we're still undefeated. Do we need a remedial fan...

ESPN's Top 25 For Next Year

    A. Oh ok, well I expect Diamond to have matured, it's perfectly okay if you disagree due to your personal experience....understandable B. No offense taken because I can't speak for every LadyVol fan. Some fans get excited to see new additions to their team, and I don't see why it's problematic...

ESPN's Top 25 For Next Year

...was Simmons who was going to shoot the LV's into the FF as a freshman. No offense but when are LV fans going to stop with the irrational exuberance over new players? C) Jasmine is a very good defensive player, a great athlete and plays with great energy but has hands of stone with the ball...

If we get Gibbs--is this the best team Uconn has ever had on paper?

    Fixing UConn's dreadful offense

...until March. This year we have one senior - Ryan Boatright, two juniors - Omar Calhoun (who in terms of playing time is really a sophomore) and Phillip Nolan (no comment). The rest of the team is sophomores and freshmen. We should have seen this coming but we experienced irrational exuberance.

At the risk of committing irrational exuberance, I am thoroughly pleased with the play of Uconn today. This is championship-caliber basketball.

    The View From Section 241

...read the View again! Nailed it overall. I especially agree with your last paragraph - I think Alan Greenspan would call it "irrational exuberance" - and some of the silliness is the hangover effect of that. Quick note about Davis, he went to the locker room in the 2nd half and came back...

    OT: Kasongo kasongo'ed by Oregon

For those of you who haven't been following the IERT (the irrational exuberance recruiting thread), Rakim Lubin has just passed Ater Majok on the "unreal expectations" chart and is rapidly approaching Ajou-Ajou Deng.

Virginia up 4 on UT at the half....

Boxer, here is my uneducated analysis of what is going on at TN that provides you with so much consternation. I don’t think there is much difference in the way the LVs play each of it’s games, even though the outcomes are inconsistent. It takes too long for the LVs to figure out the...

    The False Recruiting Dichotomy

...And truth be told, most of us are. But that doesn't mean there's Kool Aid involved. Geez, hit the TN board if you want to see irrational exuberance. Otherwise, you just might want to hold your fire until you get a better handle on the people here and how they operate. For myself, I don't...

Kortney Dunbar ('14) commits to Tennessee

We are as susceptible to irrational exuberance as Lady Vol fans. It's just that in the time period spanning the probable lifetime personal basketball memories of 2014 recruits, our effervescence has proved to be more based on reality than Tennessee's. Regarding Simmons, we love her and are...

So who still thinks Shaka Smart is not a good coach?

...the unknown makes the chooser ridiculous if he fails. This is the herd mentality. It's the basic reason for all the various irrational exuberance that takes place. Why Tulane?

Honestly, I think it was irrational exuberance on Aresco's part. Tulane probably approached him and given their academics, facilities upgrade and big city location - in the heat of the moment - Aresco pushed through their membership with the university presidents who were still concussed by...

Teams/programs with something to prove this season

We should excuse Tennessee fans for their irrational exuberance . The Knoxville media outlets are a lot like Soviet Russia’s during the cold war. Russell down to 2

...in a close game the fans and the media will be asking "what would Pat have done"? It's human nature. Pat being in the stands instead of on the bench will make little difference. Tenn will have another 20+ win season, but any thoughts of getting beyond the S16 is nothing bt irrational...

Sio Moore predicts a great season

...I'm here to help. But as far as you most recent comment, the new QB is going to rid of the ball on time. And as a bonus, it's going to be delivered to the correct side of the receiver. I'm really thinking we are going to be good this year. I'm trying to guard against irrational exuberance.

Ap Poll Due Out Tomorrow Afternoon

They lost three games to UCONN, but won the one that mattered most, the last one. So they were improving while UCONN maintained status quo?

Ap Poll Due Out Tomorrow Afternoon

I find that a little humorous. They lost 8 games last year. Let them wear the bullseye for a change. To me, they should be 4-5. I think there is an irrationally exuberant ND bandwagon out there.
