Ed Nelson is a good guy

I'm glad you had a great interaction with him, but more importantly, did you ask him if he was driving a pickup truck to his golf tournament? Feels like a missed opportunity if that didn't come up in conversation.

    Bench press thread redux

I'm 39 and have been lifting daily for the past 7 years. I'd dabble earlier in life with sports teams, but didn't have a committed routine like I do now. Now I start getting the itch if I miss a day. Had a bad shoulder injury a year ago and found out that I have some subscapular tendinosis which...

Are there Officials/Referees on the boneyard?

Yup. I have to pay for an annual "non-athlete" membership to USA Swimming.

Are there Officials/Referees on the boneyard?

It's a great question... my only guess is that it's an attempt to standardize qualifications for all coaches/officials across sports. But that's a guess.

Are there Officials/Referees on the boneyard?

I'm an official for swimming at the local club level as well as USA Swimming. My kids swim all year round (as well as doing other sports) and the meets can be VERY long. I figured that since I was going to be at the pool anyways, plus I was a swimmer, that I might as well help out. I actually...

Karaban not happy with the fan attendance

Couldn't agree with this more. Season ticket holders already have to repick their seats during the next offseason, likely including price hikes, but after having NONE of the high profile games at XL this season (closest one is Xavier) I think there's going to be a large subsection of fans that...

    Help please! Cord is cut!

I work from home 2 days/week, my wife is 100% at home, we have smart TVs, 3 kids with various devices, etc etc etc all connected to the internet. I've never really noticed a slowdown outside of the occasional routine maintenance. Not knowing what kind of speed you're looking for, I can't say for...

    Help please! Cord is cut!

I signed up about a year ago and they just offered it to me. I'd call Frontier and ask. I was also switching ISP's, so mabe it was a new customer deal?

    Help please! Cord is cut!

Piling onto the YouTube TV recommendation. If you package YouTube TV with Frontier as your ISP you'll get $10/month off the YouTube. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

2024 Recruiting: Liam McNeeley, the Second of His Name, 2.0

This made me laugh way too hard... made my old millennial bones hurt. I wonder how Tom is doing.

    COVID Vaccination

Couldn't read every single post, so I'm sorry if this has already been said. If you really want to get it soon, you could try calling Walgreens/CVS every evening about an hour before they close. I've been hearing a lot of stories about them opening a new set of vials and not being able to get...

Game Summed Up: No Winning Plays

Why is there absolutely no action inside the free throw line until under 8 seconds on the shot clock? Heck, sometimes they don't get inside the three point line until under 10. And why are Whaley or Sonogo ever out at the 3 point line unless they're setting a pick? Whaley is far more guilty of...

OT: Question for anyone who has gone solar

Temery, I switched later last year and have absolutely loved it. We used a company that can work (I believe) in all 50 states and it costs $0 to have the solar panels put up. The only stipulation is that they have to stay on your house for 20 years. They look at how much energy you used in the...

    NCAA tournament update

Not sure if this has been brought up in another thread, or earlier in this thread (because when I re-opened this one it had grown from 4 pages to 13), but if I recall correctly there's a transfer rule that allows rising-seniors to transfer to another school without sitting out a year if their...
