You choose Chen. Time and time again, UConn has proven they can churn out pros like no other program. They know what it takes make it in the WNBA. That's my feeling at least - Auriemma has a history of developing ready-made players for the pros.
The challenge with Iriafan is that her jump shot was inconsistent during the tournament, when most eye balls are on her. She can make those 15-footers, but unfortunately, it was a bad time to keep bricking them.
I think she'll be a solid pro.
Correction - it’s a milestone according to YOU, not to Bueckers. A bigger milestone for her are probably a Big East Championship and an NCAA title. Not everyone thinks a triple double is as big of achievement as other goals they are chasing.
Honestly, it’s taken her a lot of years to get to this level. US Basketball probably never thought she would get to this level and also had a lot of other prospects to focus on. So instead of waiting her turn to ‘maybe’ make a US Basketball squad, she went to France where it was more of a...
During her press conference, she also gave a shoutout to Auriemma for being one of the many coaches of her generation who she looked up to and appreciated (she also name checked Summit, Ceal Barry and Jody Conradt, among others).
Kiki Irifiafen had asked her what her favorite "Tara-ism" was...
Not a surprise, but definitely shocked and a bit heartbroken. TVD was such a huge advocate for women’s basketball, but especially for West Coast hoops. East Coast bias really is a thing and she did her best to bring up not just Stanford but all of West Coast basketball.
Her legacy is much more...
I don't think that's fair to say, especially since she got her degree at Louisville in 3 years. You don't cram all those extra classes in three years if you don't care about your education.
I think this is a bit unfair to TVO. She got her degree from OSU and wants to play elsewhere as a grad transfer. I think graduate transfers are a different beast.
I for one will happy when the extra COVID year goes away after this year.
Maybe we blame Pat Forde for this one? I feel like his tweet started this all and it snowballed from there…
I haven’t read the article yet, will probably at some point… but I also think that it was what we knew all along - it gave context as to the type of person Mulkey is… but we already knew...
I am really curious what is in the piece. We already know she is a homophobe and can be vindictive to people she doesn't like. This isn't new news.
As to her complaining about not being given enough time to answer the questions... she would never have answered them anyway, as she already...
I think Stanford is still a suspect No. 1 seed... however, they have been consistent when facing top opponents. And it seems like no other team aside from South Carolina is safe.
You are also saying the only value they bring is basketball. What about them as people? You don't think Geno is recruiting them as people as well, and not what they can do for him on the basketball court? I am pretty sure his coaching staff does not regret recruiting Azzi, Caroline or Aubrey...
If I recall correctly, all of the Huskies you mentioned were injured AFTER they committed to UConn. So in that case, are you recommending Geno pull a scholarship from someone who committed to UConn? By that point anyway, the way recruiting works, all the good players are typically spoken for, or...
