Question for Boneyard teachers, particularly high school teachers

Bednutz! (AJ here) Please do. We need as many smart and personable teachers as we can get, and if they have real world experience all the better. All the challenges you read about are real, and I still wouldn’t trade it for anything (having transitioned from a job as an attorney 14 years ago)...

UConn/BYU confirmed for TD Garden (Boston)

I teach in Brockton (AJ Dybantsa’s hometown) and way more seniors are applying to UConn than at any point in my 15 year career

Ot- italian restaurant greater farmington valley

I have a massive soft spot for Pagliaccis, having gone there since the early eighties. I wouldn’t call it a “nice” restaurant though. Is Capo still open in Litchfield? That was like a polished up version of Pagliacci’s. Both have great food tho

    It’s Braylon Mullins Week

According to my 5th grade social studies report on the state of Indiana, “Hoosier” is a portmanteau of “who’s there?”, a phrase frequently yelled between settlers in the wilderness, presumably checking whether someone nearby was friendly or hostile.

OT: Teachers of Boneyard...Back to School Time

Glad it’s working out but I wouldn’t want to be in a position where I’m responsible for 20-30 $1,000+ devices several times per day. I can think of a million scenarios where that could go badly.

OT: Teachers of Boneyard...Back to School Time

I work at the school the New York Post (I know, I know) called “the most violent high school in America”. This year we are implementing Yondr pouches to secure students’ phones. Anyone have any experience with them in schools? Did it help?

Sport gambling, where do you stand?

I don’t really get this. If you’re not interested, why not just stay not interested? Why spend money to force yourself to be interested in something you’re not?

    T-Swift - UConn

Not to pile on with the OP, but the student section at Allen Fieldhouse was doing this when we played them 12.1.23. Sounds like UConn marketing is stealing corny ideas from multiple fanbases

    Hoophall Classic Flagg and Dybantsa

Dybantsa is originally from the city where I teach high school history. Shame there was never a chance he’d play for his hometown high school (we could use the good publicity, trust me)

    Cleveland?

Johnnycake airport has been closed for a loooonng time. It’s literally cornfields now. I still fondly remember the buzz of single passenger “flying lawnchairs” as my dad called them flying about 30 feet over my childhood home. Very annoying.

    New York or Boston

There was quite a bit of chatter on sports radio leading up to both final 4 and the championship games, especially with online gambling coming online in the last few weeks. 98.5 has a minor but pretty vocal personality who is a huge UConn fan - he called into one of the shows from Houston and...
