Based on what? We're Kenpom #34 and haven't beaten a single team that's projecting better than a 7 seed. We wouldn't be favored over more than 2-3 teams that are currently ahead of us.
Gonzaga plays in a better conference and is considered one of the "unluckiest" teams in college basketball this year. They went 0-3 in OT games and lost additional games by 6, 3, 4, 4, and 7. Only 4 of their 24 wins were by single digits and they won a bunch by 30+.

I think it's very fair and reasonable, but MU has an average of 28/24 resume/quality metrics and we have 37/29, so unfortunately I don't think the committee would see us equal at this point.
