A good deal of their failure can be attributed to the SC defense. Let's be fair. None of them could get free for a decent open look, particularly AZZI.

And many of those missed lay-ups you mentioned were "blocks" by SC players. They were a more athletic team who clearly wanted it more. I fear that UCONN had been overly distracted by plaudits, and awards.

I'm not willing to put a final verdict on it either. But, it cannot be retracted, regardless of future facts/explanations. It was a poor look for UCONN. One of the first in my memory.

World Select Team - Olivia V and Jovana

Just a note from one who lives in LA...USC will be a top team next season. They get JJ back; they had a breakout freshman star this year ( Jazzy ); They have the number 1 recruit from HS basketball this season; they have the #10 recruit from HS this season ( Okeke ); and now I see a USC...

And why did Geno ignore Allie Zeibell?

All good points, Dude. I disagree,a bit, about your use of the term " loaded" for next season. For that to be true, someone has to step up to Sarah's level. We have had Paige and Azzi up to now, but they are both gone. Everyone assumes Blanca will be much better, but she didn't show that...

What do you think it will take to beat SC

This is my take, as well. We have to play 40 minutes of prime, UCONN BB. As we did in the first half against Syracuse. And we hav to do so two games in a row.

Ashlynn Shade is an unsung hero for UConn women's basketball: 'She is the heart of this team'

Most of what you are reading are not criticisms. We all know she can " do it all." She has demonstrated great shooting talent. We just want it to come back for her.

ASH is great. But we need her p a level....that is to say; "make your shots. " Please. I know you can do that.

Editors note; It will not be "either SC or TCU." There is zero chance it will be TCU, despite Olivia Miles. We all know that. And Michigan is not beating Texas, either.

Should we read anything into . . .

She exhibited speed and a great deal of athleticism driving to the hoop. Her defense progressed from little to fair. But her willingness to learn and dedicate herself to the team is positive. She showed little ability to convert shots from middle distance or from the arc. This doesn't mean...

Should we read anything into . . .

So if she was not listed as ' available," we can infer that she has an injury or was feeling ill?

Ashlynn Shade is an unsung hero for UConn women's basketball: 'She is the heart of this team'

I first saw ASH in the Noblesville final for high school AAAA championship game in Indiana. She did it all and I was thrilled that she had committed to UCONN. She is a gem in every respect. A favorite of mine also.

Sarah, by my count, boinked three foul shots. Probably equal to her total misses for the season.

OT Best Quote by Player or Coach - So Far

Caroline Ducharme is the one who said it. (" I used to be really good" ...or words to that effect). And she was right on.
