Most importantly note that when UConn was playing terribly, and Lamb's shot wasn't falling early, things turned around because he got to the rim and, in turn, got to the line. That's something we've been missing all year, settling for jumpers instead of penetrating inside.
Couldn't agree...
As the last two posters said, even though Jacobs can't resist his anti-Calhoun shots, he does seem to be reasonably pro-UConn's self-imposed sanctions (provided they put Calhoun in a pillory and peg him with tomatoes). At the very least it allows Herbst to tell her side of the story. It is...
It amazes me that both Forde and O'Neill completely omit Herbst's points about the retroactive punishment and the successes of UConn's APR improvement initiative, and both couch the story as UConn vs. HBCU's.
Since Forde exhibited all the journalistic zeal of Simmons' buddy Jack-O, I figured I'd give him a "Fire Joe Morgan" style send-up as well:

I agree. A very stark reality of this is that no other programs are in this position. It was completely and totally avoidable. That said, UConn has already been levied a punishment by the NCAA (scholarship reduction). They've made actionable changes to respond to their academic shortcomings...
This whole thing is stupid in that, all that matters is the court of public opinion. I think the self-imposed ban is good in that sense. UConn acknowledges their previous failings and attempts to take the punishment as an institution and program, rather than something that unduly affects the...
That's a really good point. I think it's particularly true because in the sports sense this almost makes sense. The NCAA is enforcing it's rules. It's nice to have someone from outside the sports world come in to put this in real-life context, because the measures the NCAA has taken to enforce...
FWIW, Georgetown barely zoned us last year if I recall correctly. We came into that game having lost 3 of 5 including an absolute man-handling at the hands of St. John's who made it look like we weren't going to beat a zone all season. They're mostly a man team and it doesn't seem like JT3 likes...
You sure they wont wait until President's day? They seem to like to deliver the news on the Friday of a long weekend. In fact, that could be the NCAA's new motto:
The NCAA: See You Next Tuesday
I agree with the sentiment, but I think they've clearly proven that they don't need evidence. After all, they haven't even taken any official action in this case besides re-opening the investigation, and yet Boatright toils on the bench while our offense punches itself in the face repeatedly...
According to this (which quotes a direct tweet from Kyle Muncy), the men and women are just wearing them for one game each against Notre Dame.
This is a good source (though it reads like it was written by Nike's PR people) which has some better photos...
I don't know what you're talking about, Ohio State's gonna look great it these.
In all seriousness, it's kind of impressive that they managed to remove not only all the blue, but also any traces of white.
