1) Any team that misses the playoffs is in the same boat we are in. Bowling is now the target.
2) Better to lose early than late in the season. Humans have an amazingly short memory.
3) We are competitive and worth watching. We can only get better.
That is the way I think it's done.
BTW, the strength of the Fairfield team is their best players are down the middle of the field. Their center fielder, their pitcher and their catcher are top notch. An important core for a team. Throw in a steady SS/2B and "the rest", and you have a good team.

It looks to me like Furphy makes others around him better. If you ignore him, he can hurt you. If you focus on him, he positions himself in such a way that others get better looks. The way you play off the ball is as important as it is playing with the ball. That fits nicely with the UConn...
