Hey, as a fellow Floridian, I understand long drives, but long drives to the middle of nowhere, in winter and often at night, just aren't worth it to a lot of people. A nice dinner and a basketball game in Hartford and a 20-30 min commute home is much better.
This is it. Winning tomorrow can put us on course for a dream season of sorts. It will also massively extend the time period that we get great press this fall which is huge for our recruiting and realignment hopes.
I can't buy that. It takes forever to get to the casino from a lot of places that really love UConn basketball. Hartford is in the middle of a huge population comparitively.
We will be in CT in a few weeks and have friends asking us to go see Adam Sandler on 9/26 at Mohegan. I said I'd...
After Cuse steamrolling us last time, I am going into this game very cautiously optimistic. Their huge OL scares me, mostly because our DL looked so underwhelming against CCSU. Hopefully, we left plenty up our sleeve against Central and Cuse has no idea what we are about to throw at them...
The WNBA is way more popular now though and Mohegan Sun is very inconvenient to the population bases in CT. I would never go to a game at the casino but I'd go in Hartford and do my part now and then. The Sun would definitely need to have some UConn alums on the roster to maximize attendance...
If the major issue is location because players don’t want to live down by the casinos, why keep the Sun at Mohegan at all? Just put them in Hartford. A WNBA player will have a nice life in the Hartford area. The players can live in places like West Hartford and Glastonbury and have a much more...
It won’t have the level of excitement ND did. We were desperate for a win after Jazz died and South Bend was the perfect setting. It was a magical situation.
In terms of helping right this program and showing that we are back on the level of power conference teams, it would be absolutely huge...
I hope Portnoy tells them how important exposure in the Northeast is. His thoughts on the matter may have even been solicited. Portnoy is a big East Coast guy and Barstool is extremely popular in that neck of the woods.
The big thing is it is hard to get into HOF in basketball. If Ben had played at the level he did in Chicago, especially in the playoffs, for 5 more years, he would have been a bit of a phenom offensively. That is why I said he might have been pushing for it. I guess the Hall of Fame was out of...
A healthy Ben would have pushed for that. You may need to watch some video. He was an incredible offensive talent. He just didn’t do it long enough. He was unstoppable for a decent spell.
It’s really hard to pinpoint how many are in the building at the Rent. There’s so many beer stands, bars, merch stands and of course, there’s shade in the concourse. The concourse is always loaded with people.
We’re front runners. We pile up championships in other sports. When our football program is winning and playing in a legit conference again, the Rent will be full. You won’t see the more casual fans show up consistently until then. They expect bigger games, that’s what they are used to within...
Just to point it out, CCSU does not “stink”. They are in the “others receiving votes” in the FCS Top 25 and are expected to be pretty good at that level. We beat them so easily because we are getting bigger and better. We should crush an FCS team.
The lack of a pass rush is really...
