I don’t think our placement in Fenway against Army is disrespectful. It shows that like typical Northeasterners, the organizers are shrewd. UConn vs Army is a slam dunk for attendance. We will sell tickets and so will Army. It will be a great bowl game in terms of atmosphere. Unlike many of the...
You can’t field a real team for a bowl anymore. Nobody cares. They need to reestablish a system where bowl games matter. Why not require players to finish the season, including bowl games or forgo 30% of their NIL?
It’s a blah matchup but it doesn’t really matter. We have a new coach coming in and there’s a great chance that our best players won’t even play in the game. I’ll watch and pull for a win, but I think our fan base has moved onto the future mentally for this year. I’d rather play Army in Fenway...
The thing with Nick is he’s got to be able to see his receivers and throw it to them. He just couldn’t see the field and then when he did throw, he wasn’t very accurate. He has a lot to improve on.
With Joe, so much of what makes him good is his skill seeing the field and then throwing with...
If he’s as good of a recruiter as they say he is, he’s going to do real well selling the UConn experience over Toledo. The facilities, brand and swag are just a massive upgrade. I’ve got my fingers crossed that he makes recruiting a solid team by our standards look like shooting fish in a...
The Smith idea is growing on me, especially if we can retain Sammis. The expectation would be a quick and impressive infusion of talent. However, if that doesn’t happen, we’ll all be in rebellion in 75 days or so.
If he can’t bring the talent, we’ll be wishing we had Cahill.
And they really had nowhere to go. The B12 wasn’t a better situation for them at the time. They bluffed everyone. Honestly, I actually thought they might leave for the B12. It was never happening.
Yeah, but I’m not sure we can get a coach that will bring much. The only guys on our list that would bring players are probably Reno and Cahill and they’ll only bring a couple of guys each. Carty would bring players, but it doesn’t seem like he’s in play. I’m most concerned with getting a real...
The upside to Cahill over Reno is the young coach energy and connection with the players. I’d be fine with either. I suspect that it will be one of these two that we hire.
