I've read all of the books so far...and honestly, I'm still not sure. I'm hoping book 6, which comes out in 4-5 years, will provide more information. Hints and clues (and even a couple of encounters) are dropped along the way in the series, but nothing really substantial has come of it yet...

Correct. 28 and he's been absolutely terrible since he was 25 (end of 2009). He made one appearance for a team in the Dominican League this past winter and got rocked. Hasn't been signed by anyone.
