I've never been to the XL Center or to Hartford after dark. Are there any safety concerns for a woman going to an evening game at the XL Center alone? I'm considering the UConn-LCU game on Monday night, and my husband probably can't go.

no problem, everyone comes together and basically leave together... parking in one of the nearby garages would be very helpful.

You have not the slightest concern. Just park in the lot across the street (behind and adjacent to the Hilton). You then can either walk across the street or go to an upper level and walk in the enclosed bridge to the XL Center, so you avoid all forms of bad weather.

My wife and I used to enjoy dinner in the Hilton and get our parking ticket OK'd so we could exit the lot for free. Not sure if that policy is still in effect. Good luck and be assured you will be safe. :)

I always park on the Asylum Street lot across from Feng Asian Bistro. Between that lot and the XL Center (before and after games and other XL Center events), there are always plenty of other people on the street. XL Center games are perfectly safe.

depending on the weather Id park on Jewell Street (at Bushnell Park) and if I could get closer I would... Lewis Street, Pearl Street on either side of Trumbull (Trumbull Kitchen), Pratt is too tight for me but is as close as you can get to street parking. Church Street is cool if you get there early enough (2hrs before game).

Also there's a few streets and open-air lots behind the XL Center (Ann - Allyn Streets area)

I haven't been to a game in almost 2 season due to my work schedule and with the BET down at the casino these days it really tough

There is also the garage underneath the XL center- couldn't be safer...
the safest... but getting outta there is hell unless you're leaving at the 8 minute timeout

I confess to leaving a blowout about the time that Tierney and Polido check in. Then we rush to our car and turn on the radio (and heater) to listen to as much of the superb post-game review by Bob Joyce and Kara Wolters as we can. As we listen to them tell us what we just saw, traffic gradually thins to a degree that we can finally exit and head for home.

I know, I know - this is kinda silly. So what! :)

There are plenty of police officers around directing traffic, too. But the area is well-lit and very busy due to the XL Center, hotels, and restaurants in the area. I've never felt unsafe there.

I park across from Feng next to the Irish pub, your fine there. But, I know some people that park at the Radisson and walk from there. That would be dangerous alone

The first two are on Asylum St., just east of the XL. The Radisson is that stand alone hotel across I-84. I suggest parking in the lot at the corner of Ann and Church. It's just outside the exit behind Section 112.

oh... that pub with the benches out front, yeah that lot starts from Pratt & Main, block of main and down Asylum to Trumbull (not exactly but at the Pub) gotcha...
I use to love that lot but leaving that lot after a game isnt fun especially cause the Asylum street exit (one way Street) leads you right back to the XL Center where most of the traffic is (but the police does move things along)
