Quigley shot first in the finals and had to be tired. She got 18.

Sue with a scoop toss-in like Maya does.

Err, did someone call me?!? :) This game is hard to watch, absolutely no defense is being played.
Kinda like the NFL Pro-Bowl. I don't watch that either. When the Super Bowl is over, the NFL season is over until September as far as I'm concerned.

It's hard to watch preseason games (but I do) because the starters usually don't participate in them, only undrafted rookies and free agents trying desperately to hook on.

OT. Quigley started 4-5 and went 5-5 on the moneyball rack. 29 points!!! KMac had a nice effort, but 21 wasn’t enough.

That was an incredible display from Allie. 29 of a potential 34 points.

Quigley getting 29 on her third round in less than 10 minutes is astounding. :D:D

Kayla earns props. Her jumping style must tire her out quite a bit. All the contestants put in respectable performance. Kudos. I like the 3pt competition better than the game itself.

Yeah, everybody had at least 16. No slackers in the group. Quigley appears to be in a class by herself.

I loved Renee wearing Tiffany Hayes number in the 3pt contest. Rebecca Lobo pointed out it was in answer to the biggest snub.

Didn’t exactly bring her luck. Maybe she should have worn Sykes’ jersey. ;)

Players are getting more serious now. Wilson has 18 points. Team Parker up by 11.

Quigley wins the 3 pt contest
Maya Moore won her 3rd All-Star MVP trophy in as many years.

Las Vegas to host 2019 WNBA All-Star Game.
The 2019 WNBA All-Star Game will be hosted by the Las Vegas Aces and played at the Mandalay Bay Events Center (inside the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino) league president Lisa Borders announced Saturday.

The game will be played July 27, 2019.

This is the first year the WNBA has been in Las Vegas, as the Stars franchise moved from San Antonio to become the Aces, who are owned by MGM Resorts International.

I feel the same way (can't watch the game), BUT......................................there were 15,922 persons in attendance today that I'm sure enjoyed the experience. Not to mention the millions of fans across the country that watched on TV. Anytime you can draw 16,000 fans to any basketball game (male/female at any level), that's an excellent draw!!!

I'd be willing to bet they have the same number of fans (or close to it) next year in Las Vegas. I only watched a small portion of it on TV. Once I saw that both teams were playing "matador " defense, I changed the channel. I certainly would not pay to see it live or PPV. I feel the same way about the NFL's "Pro-Bowl". I never watch it.

It's an "exhibition" game for the fans. Nobody gets hurt, everyone (including the players) has fun and enjoys themselves. I would not say this game is a waste of time. All major sports leagues have an annual "All-Star" game. Today's game did very well at the box office and concession stands. Those that are attracted to it will watch or attend, those that aren't won't.

The young kids and teenagers love it!!! Theres usually game booths and other attractions setup in the arena concourse for the fans enjoyment. They get to see their favorite players live and up close. If they're lucky, maybe get an autograph or selfie.

I'm sure you wouldn't want to deny a youngster the opportunity to see and possibly meet some of their heroes would you? Of course not. Not to mention that this may be the only AS game many of them will ever attend.

No doubt those attendance numbers put a BIG smile :) on the faces of the WNBA executives, and they'll be looking forward to possibly surpassing those numbers next year. ;)

I get what you say and agree and i'm happy for the league and players! for me it's not a game I'll spend money to see and I could watch only few minutes on TV before turning the channel.

I don't watch the NFL Pro Bowl and never have but I believe that the game is played the weekend before the SB (players selected for the Pro Bowl from the 2 SB teams do not play obviously so they have "substitute" Pro Bowl players for them.) So, the SB IS the final game of the NFL season. I think.

I’ve rewatched Allie Quigley’s WNBA 3 Point performance a few times, and I’m still mesmerized by her rhythm and pace

Overall, it was fun. The loudest cheers: (1) Maya being introduced; (2) Maya winning the MVP; (3) Allie Quigley making almost every shot in the 3-point contest.

The lack of defense for most of the game was a bit of a downer, but the box score shows 8 blocks and 15 steals. Some of the blocks were nasty.

Candace got the only 2 FTs in the game, and she clanked both.

To me, players who stood out:

Maya: 18/8/6 and a late dagger 3
Liz: 11/8 including a 3 and playing PG
Angel: several athletic moves, though a bunch of misses
Skylar: 17/8/8
Allie: 18 points and a very dangerous shooter
Stewie: 10/5/3 and looking very smooth
A'ja: 18/5
Seimone: 14 points on 6-8 shooting looked like her old self
Kristi: 23 points including 5 treys in the last 5 minutes when she got white hot

Maya now has the career record for ASG points. Sue added 8 assists and probably has the career record (she got the single-game record last year).

Did anyone notice that Stewie was sporting "the bun" look. Have not seen this look before.
I thought she looked different. A carryover from the gala event the night before? I barely recognized her with the bun and makeup on Friday evening.
