”Baseball America will update this Projected Field of 64 post daily throughout the week with all the latest results. While there is still some projection in this update, that is rapidly being washed out and turned into an evaluation of what the selection committee is expected to do.”

Same Regional different opponent:

Knoxville, Tenn.
1. (1) Tennessee^*
2. UConn*
3. Indiana
4. Wright State*

Last Four In

61. Kansas State ⬇️
62. Xavier
63. Georgia Tech
64. Indiana ⬆️

First Four Out

65. Louisville ⬇️
66. Troy
67. UNC Wilmington
68. Cincinnati

Next Four Out

69. California
70. Georgetown
71. East Tennessee State
72. Virginia Tech
If only this ends up being the bracket…ur gonna have to beat a quality opponent to advance. This would be a great draw on paper.

Frustrating day. First game our offense lets us down in many key situations, second game our pitching can’t hold a lead.
I really believe we are in tournament, but losing first 2 games makes me nervous for Monday’s selection show.
Below is the last chart update for season, we are all Green ( but just barely).

Let’s see what happens Monday. If we get in you never know how far we can go, even though I would be surprised (pleasantly) if we made some noise.

post season Criteria
(1) 32 - 23/ .582.... 33- 24 / .579
(2) 12 - 3 / .800….. 11 - 4 / .733
(3) 41.... < 49Team RPI
(4) 7th........ < 8 Conf RPI
(5) 1st ........ Top 2 Big East

Have to hope Xavier wins the tournament now. If not, they get the second bid over UConn. What a terrible finish.

I’m guessing we’re out. But I’m not an expert on college baseball selection. Just responding to this team’s resume.

I believe they are in as well and I’m hoping the BE Tournament was merely seeding purposes regarding Uconn. We’ll know Mon.

I would love to be able to believe that a) our body of work throughout this season was sufficient that even a blip such as not winning a game in the conference tournament would not hurt our chances at a bid and b) what happened in this years' BE tournament was merely a blip, not a microcosm of what this season has been but I am worried that we may end up on the outside looking in when the tournament field is announced.

Hard to argue any of that. I’m basing it solely on the belief that they were considered in prior to…BE Tournament. They lost 2 games in one day both in extras and a suspended game at that. A bad day of baseball imo. That’s really it.

A favorable draw and some solid baseball and you never know.

We'll be in. It'll be a tough draw now and likely a 3 seed but one day of bad baseball doesn't matter more than their full season resume that had them in all year

So do we want Xavier or St. John’s to win the big East? Does either help RPI more than it hurts the bid stealing?

Northeastern has a better or similar RPI- swept UConn including a mercy rule game and is out while Penders and co are in. Man I hope that’s true but what I’ve watched this year outside big East games doesn’t give me a lot of confidence.

If it works out, conference and conference RPI (plus OOC scheduling) will have been the reason. Who would’ve thunk it?

If the decision for a bid came down to these facts alone I’m not sure how UConn gets it. I’m holding out hope that isn’t the scenario and again, we were in already before the tourney chaos with Xavier and NE amongst some others forcing an at large elsewhere.
