It will stay at 16, I'm sure, but 18 makes more sense (and, sadly, so does 14).

For football, two 9-team divisions. Four home games, four road games.
For basketball, 8 road games, 8 home games, 2 crossover games.

That makes more sense.

Or, and this is even less likely, but I bring it up because of former WAC commissioner's comments, 20 school conferences.

Four 5 team divisions. Play each of those schools (4 games), one other division (rotating; 5 games), and then petition the NCAA for a 4 team conference tournament rather than just a title game.

Wishful thinking, perhaps, but either of those scenarios guarantees UConn (and the remaining BE leftovers) a spot.

I say 14 has a 50% chance and 16 has a 50%.

The kicker is that 14 would not include FSU and VT.

Yes, 18 or 20 makes more sense, however it all about $$$$ per school. When a conference can get more $$$$ for the 4 team playoff, then the leagues will move to 20.
