He won an MVP in the bigs. First overall pick. Better question, why on earth would anyone choose Raef LaFrentz?
Because he was better in college than Embiid. Four year starter at KU, still had a long NBA career. Scored over 2000 points. Jacque Vaughn is another I’d consider if there weren’t others ahead of him.

A couple more easy ones.
Wake Forest - Tim Duncan
Navy - David Robinson

Jacque is my choice for KU…had his jersey and shorts set at like 11 years old. Loved him in college.

Kansas backcourt I really liked was Adonis Jordan and Rex Walters.

That was during my time there. So I certainly think of them, but it’s more personal. Rex had incredible hops. Those were some fun teams to watch.

Embiid would be about like answering Drummond for UConn.
That would be Chief's answer. Still not sure what part of "no wrong answers" you midwesterners don't understand. Myself, I'd pick Danny Manning.

DJ Augustin and McNamara for me as well. I guess my mind doesn't jump to 1 and done dudes in the case of TX or cuse either. Also, interesting call on Perry Ellis. I like this list.

I've noticed something odd over the years: well, maybe it's not so odd given such a memorable name, but whenever I mention PC basketball, non-PC fans will mention 1 player specifically....God Shammgod (fans in my dads age group will probably say Ernie D)

Now God was really good, not the best the program has known (that honor probably goes to Ernie D), but he still gets the mentions.

The point of this thread is not PC specific. Who do you associate, top of mind, with the following programs? Not, who do you think is the best. Not, the most underrated. Just the name that comes to your mind:

Which player (not coach) is linked with:
Arizona
Kansas
UNC
DUKE
UCONN (this should be good)
WV
Cuse
Gonzaga
Ucla
Texas
Florida
Michigan St
Michigan
St John's
Seton Hall
DePaul
The rest of the current/former BE

Or any school you wish. There is no right answer.

Arizona-TJ McConnell
Kansas-Andrew Wiggins
UNC-Tyler Hansborough
DUKE-Zion Williamson
UCONN (this should be good)-KEMBA
WV-Da’Sean Butler
Cuse-Rakeem Christmas
Gonzaga-Kevin Pangos
Ucla-Jamie Jaquez
Texas-Kevin Durant
Florida-Scottie Wilbekin
Michigan St-Denzel Valentine
Michigan-Jordan Poole
St John's-Julian Champagnie
Seton Hall-Myles Powell
DePaul-Cleveland Melvin
