UConn scores.

Napier, Boatright and Daniels get the defense's attention.

This is something the nation was not quite aware of until tonight. Granted, they just started doing this a couple weeks ago, but now UConn is hard to stop on offense.

I'm calling it now. Samuel is the next great UConn guard. He has played some major minutes this tournament and has great ball control and a wonderful first step.

Fast and fearless, came up big tonight...again.

Samuel and Giffs yes - Kromah is a travel waiting to happen. I appreciate his D but his offensive game has disappeared. BUT the xfer is playing in the Nat Champ game!!!

TSam changed the complexion of the game... He came in, played tough D, gave us a third ballhandler, and was able to take it to hole. Huge props to him. And that wasn't a travel and should have been an and 1.

If this were a close game-it was clea to me officiating would have advantaged Florida. Same as I watch Kentucky & UW......like refs are afraid of SEC heat

Don't know if this was posted elsewhere, but a great stat from ESPN.

Connecticut was at its best when it inserted freshmen guard Terrence Samuel into the lineup alongside Shabazz Napier and Ryan Boatright. In 18 minutes with Samuel on the court, the Huskies outscored Florida by 15 points and had 11 more points than they had in 22 minutes with him on the bench.

Kromah is a senior but not a Tourney senior like Bazz, Giffey and even Tyler. He looked startled and quite frankly scared. Maybe Monday he will get it together cause we need him.

No secret that when we went small we completely screwed up Donavan's game plan. Samuel contributed when he was in there and with 3 ball handlers Florida's pressure didn't work. It was another great move by Ollie.

Completely agree, man. You look at TS now and he looks a lot like freshmen Kemba and Bazz: always high energy on defense causing turnovers, good instinct for penetrating, decent ball handling. And they all showed it in their first tournaments. Let's see how he develops his jump shot.

If there is a silver lining to Kromah's struggles, it's the fact that we won't miss him as much next year, whereas we'll still have Samuel.

Yeah but like Boat if he D's up Monday his offense will come. We need his D not his offense, I'm not sure he knows that.

EVERY UCONN CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM, 3 great guards

99 - KEA, Ripper, Ricky
04 - BG, Rashad, Taliek
11 - Kemba, Lamb, Shabazz

well 14 . . Bazz, Boat, Samuel

The two great years we lost (06, 09) we missed that 3rd G
06, Price never played that year, would have had Williams, Anderson, Price
09, Dyson gets hurt, Price, Dyson, Kemba
Either team with the 3rd guard would give us 4 NC's going into Monday

This also happened against MSU. He needs more minutes.
