So they’d rather add UAB (who didn’t have a program two years ago) or a school I didn’t realize was FBS than keep us?

What about James Madison? Weren’t they pushing hard for an invite a couple years ago?

Since being FBS, App State has been insanely good. Won 11 games last year. They are one of the strongest G5 teams outside of the AAC without a doubt and would make geographic sense, giving Temple and Navy a decent travel partner. UAB went 11-3 in their second year back, and there are many pieces on the internet about the political machinations that caused UAB to temporarily lose its program. They’ve come back super strong, have solid attendance, would strengthen the southern presence and add another metro area which the AAC seems to highly value. There aren’t many other programs that make sense, and those two are way stronger than UMass could ever dream of being

The only concern about AppState is whether Drinkwitz can duplicate Sattersfield success there...

Totally fair point. They’ve been a power since their FCS days, and I’m one to believe they’ll continue to be solid under Drinkwitz. What Satrersfield did was spectacular, so a small drop off is to be expected. The bottom line is that the American will need to be creative in who they look to add, and I tend to think both of these programs have both current value and the potential for growth

AAC would be crazy to let us go in football. I still think we will be in AAC for football.

For football, we are very replaceable.

We should try to make a deal where we schedule lots of basketball games with the AAC.

Well we are gonna have to be limited since with the BE double round robin, we will be playing 20 conference games going forward, so there won't be much room for OOC games/tournaments.

Our FB program alone offers absolutely nothing of value to the AAC now. They want us gone last week.
Hope so. Then we can negotiate an early exit.

At large for what? The dominoes bowl? What are you referring to?

in the AAC we have a change at a BCS bowl being an At-Large. Again how don't you understand that.

I honestly think UConn has a trick up their sleeve
.

UConn better have a trick up their sleeves. In the short term, this is going to be costly to an Athletic Department already in deep do-do financially. I guess we'll see in the long term

Bro, how about let the program reestablish itself after Diaco got us historically bad recruits, which is a big part of why we had last season. Rather than panic and cry about it.

Of course. As any hooker can tell you, a service is always more valuable before it's been performed.

Why does UConn get all the blame for Diaco when the guy that made the call got a big raise?

You're the only one crying. Everyone else is super stoked.

One thing working in UConn's favor for staying AAC in football are CT's demographics and the TV market that may include NYC metro and Boston metro areas. UMass doesn't include NYC.
