I'd be surprised at a coach that DIDN'T have that incentive stuff in their contract.

Wasn't Stringer earning more the $1 Million dollars a year before her last contract extension? At least with the incentives, her teams need to accomplish something.

Yes = I think her previous contract was almost double the guaranteed money but with much smaller incentive payments. Basically she took a serious haircut on guaranteed money that was mostly added back as incentive.

Quite often as the school likes the PR that such focus on 'academics' 'represents' - I think a few of the coaches at UNC actuallly got paid incentive bonuses based on the stellar workk their students put into their independent studies!
