We have three games against UC Davis, a 4-7 team that has gotten roughed up by the Oregon schools but won a series vs. Utah Valley State and crushed Penn State in a midweek game. I anticipate taking 2 in that series if we play well, but they will not be a walk in the park. They struggle to hit good pitching, so our starters should continue to put up great numbers.

The midweek game vs. Santa Clara is winnable. Statistically, they have one of the worst defenses in college baseball and they struggle to win at home. We should be able to score against them.

BYU will be the toughest test. They are also below .500 but have played a fairly tough schedule so far and were expected to be a regional team this year. They are very beatable if we play our game.

4-3 would be OK but honestly would feel like we're treading water. Let's take 5! Go huskies!

No Tim Cate again this week against Cal Davis. I had a feeling this would happen when I listened to the Jim Penders weekly interview that was done prior to the games at Stetson last weekend. Had to get him throwing again this past week, and then back on the mound. Just sounded like a bit too much. Hopefully, the BYU games are more realistic for him to come back.

Having PJ Poulin start the Friday game is a bit of a surprise, rather than one of the other designated starters like Domnarski, Nepiarsky, or Zapata. I suspect that Nepiarsky and Zapata don't have the hight confidence of the coaching staff, while Domnarski's role may be determined by how well Poulin does. If Poulin throws a solid set of innings, Domnarski might find himself back in the lefty role out of the bullpen, with Poulin possibly a candidate to get midweek starts.

Damn, Cate vs. these mediocre teams is almost a free win. That loss to WMU hurts, and if we lose a 7-6 game to UC Davis...

Chris Jones seems to have thrown the gerbils off the WHUS broadcast. The broadcast sounds good now.

UConn has a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd.

They are running all over us. Not sure if it is Poulin not going a good job of holding them or not. He is a lefty so you wouldn't think they'd be getting big leads

Top of 5th, Moriarty single, Krueger sacrifices him to 2nd, and a Prato double drives in Moriarty. Tie score with Huskies still at bat.

Rajkowski gives up a run on back to back doubles in the bottom of the 5th. Cal Davis leads 4-3 going into the top of the 6th.
