Six assists for Moriah, nearly half of her team's total. But the shooting percentage of our Big Three plummeted. Big shock!! And Moriah committed four personal fouls. We're not in Storrs anymore, are we! WNBA is a very tough league.
Not unexpected. There is always a transition period when you move to a new level of competition. We don't expect high school stars to step on and light it up in there first college games, so why would we expect the transition from college to the pros to be any different?
It seems to take a season (or most of one) for a great college player to really get into the swing of things in the WNBA. Of course, some get it quicker than others; from what I've seen it tends to be harder for talented guards to adjust than talented posts. Moriah's 6 assists aren't bad for a rookie's first game, though.
