Notre Dame was able to pull away late in the game. GA Tech's #21 was very impressive at the 5 position. Although undersized, she totally dominated ND's bigs. Told Mrs Hayes that it was going to be a blowout in favor of ND and boy was I wrong. Great game overall. And of course Dee officiated. Lol

Tech's #21, Zaire O'Neil, a freshman from Newark,N.J. , scored 20 and had 6 rebounds. She's averaging almost 12 points, and 6 rebounds, and is only 5'11". Take note, those of you who doubt that a 5'11" can play "among the trees". As more than one of us has said here, lack of size did not keep Rodman from playing down low.

Rodman was 6-8, certainly tall enough. After all, the great Russell was only an inch taller. More impressive was Barkley at 6-5, if that.

Barkley is certainly a great example of determination, technique,etc , overcoming a lack of size to be able to compete with the big guys. And I think that Gabby is definitely of the same mold. I mentioned Rodman( was actually 6'7") only because of his ability to get off the floor , as is case with Gabby. Amazing that Rodman , for a 3 year period, averaged 18 rebounds. In any case, there's no doubt in my mind that Gabby can play up front, in spite of giving away the size.

Rodman always said that rebounding was not about size, but was about desire. He felt that every ball that came off the rim was his and acted accordingly. I sense that same desire in GW.
