in memory of the late , GREAT Pat Summitt, one fact about championships occurred to me.
The championships Pat won with the LVs were three standalone clusters: three NCs in five seasons from 1987-1991, three in a row 1996-98, and the Candace Parker repeat of 2007 and 2008.
Geno, meanwhile, has a unique championship Yahtzee of his own at Uconn. The Huskies have two standalone championships in 1995 and 2000. There was a repeat run of two consecutive NCs in 2009 and 2010. Meanwhile, Geno also notched the DT-fueled three-peat from 2002-04. Finally, the Stewie-led Huskies won four in a row from 2013-16.
I don't want to take ANYTHING from the LVs or call it a competition right now. Rather, I just wanted to illustrate how Pat set the bar as Geno has said she did, as well as how Geno converted the way Pat inspired and fueled him to add to where the bar should be.
