Colby over Jimmy. Interesting. Wonder if Wang is better suited to relief right now as opposed to starting since he has had trouble going 5 innings for a while now.
It is interesting. Of course, one has to remember that this has probably been the most lackluster starting staff UConn has had since I started following the team closely in 2010. Starting pitching has really been the biggest weakness of this season's team, which is a reversal of the normal situation where starting pitching is usually UConn's biggest strength. The ERA's of the starters are high by UConn standards, and the starters also generally don't go long into games in terms of innings.
Not sure if injuries have anything to do with it, but it sure looks like Penders is now restructuring the starting roles on this team. Joe Simeone just got a weekday starting spot over Kenny Haus, and now Colby Dunlop gets the nod over Jimmy Wang. Looks to me the coaching staff is kind of reorganizing the starters now that the bulk of the midweek games are over, and with the AAC tourney coming into view later in the month.
