OOC wins are big for PWR. 3 points on the road is a great start to the season

Not so much really… After other teams figured out Tverberg’s antics and selfish solo efforts he was largely unproductive in the second half of the season. This team already plays with netter chemistry and passing. Only criticism so far is the powerplay which has really never been great since Tage and Letunov, and maybe ok with Iskhakov and Evans for awhile.
I think we'll definitely miss his speed though - this team didn't look particularly fast this weekend.

Faceoffs looked better on Sunday than on Saturday. Powerplay is just very out of sync, Cav & co. need to spend a lot of time working on that this week. Personally, I liked when they went 1-3-1 last year with Capone as the bumper rather than the Umbrella but we'll see what they cook up this weekend for Holy Cross. Going to need to see more from Mahshie going forward, had 2 SOG all weekend, took a penalty at the end of the 2nd period Sun & was on the ice for a goal against. I'm sure he's still trying to gel with his new teammates.

Why didn't his count?

In the overtime period, both netminders made timely saves resulting in the game ending in a tie. Senior Ethan Haider continued to be strong in his UConn debut making three big glove saves to hold the Raiders scoreless. Both teams elected to participate in a shootout, and in the shootout sophomores Matthew Wood and Samu Salminen scored, while Haider blocked all attempts resulting in the Huskies coming away victorious.

Out-of-conference games end in a tie at the end of OT. Shootout was just for fun really and practice for Hockey East games where if it goes to a shootout the team that wins gets the extra point.

True, but though the team lacks raw speed, they are more physical and look to be quicker with the puck and decision making. They have improved assets like with Woods who has demonstrated maturity and improved hands even since last year.
