UConn stats... Nika, Paige & Liya update after BE tourny...

After winning the Big East Tournament in grand style, Nika, Paige and Aaliyah moved higher into UConn record books. Here are the latest numbers as of Tuesday, March 12th.

1. Nika - With 9 assists against G-town, Nika is now alone in 2nd place with 651 career assists. MoJeff is 8 assists away at 659. The first two games of the NCAA tournament may bring the #1 spot.

2. Paige scored a ton of points in the BE tournament to settle in 25th place with 1,554 total points. Next up for Paige is #24 Gabby Williams with 1,582 points. Then #23 Swin Cash at 1,583 points.

3. Liya missed two games in the tournament, but still stands at #18 in scoring with 1,777 points. Next up for Aaliyah is Stef Dolson with 1,797 points and Tiff Hayes at 1,801 points.

Yes, Paige is coming back for the 2024-25 season. Doubtful she, or anyone, can pass Maya's total career points of 3,036. Today, Paige is 1,482 points short of that mark. Even with 200 more points this year, she would still need 1,200 or more next year. I think Maya's record is safe...

After Verification, in fact she's at 957, still 9th but 50 behind Gabby.

How you verify that?

I took her 679 rebounds from the Media guide (through her Jr year) and added her 299 from this year. 978. (even used a calculator to be sure)

I took the Roster stats and added the rebounds from 2 games lacking; I am verfing your way just now - So her roster card said 311 rebounds for last year and the media guide said 332, after verification You & the Media Guide are right

As is Page Bueckers! PB with 725 points is only 67 points behind Phee for second place in single season scoring. If UConn plays only 3 more games Paige would have to average 23ppg to pass Phee. Make it 4 games and she’ll need to average 17 ppg to move into 2nd place. And look out Maya Moore if UConn and Paige go on a terrific run and make it to the finals ( 24 ppg would do it) !

Nka at 658 career assists, 1 behind Moriah. At 225 for the season, tied for second , 6 behind Sue. Next game Nika should claim the all time career assist record and could tie/pass Sue for second on the single season assist list!
