UConn will win this game by double digits barring any crazy foul trouble or injuries which I dont anticipate. Crystal will have a great game. She will be the straw that stirs the drink. Gabby and Phessa will take turns defending Wilson with Z coming over with help defense. Kia will defend Harris. Making life tuff for Harris is the key to the game. She is a very good guard who can pile up the assists as well as score.

Some one other then Wilson will have to step up and score consistently. UConn is too fine tuned, and to quick for SC to defend them one on one. The fine tuning will show up when UConn gets going. This game could get out of hand early if UConn comes out hot. I dont expect SC to come out hot. I expect SC to try to slow the game down. UConn is a much better and more experienced team then last season and they have Z and Walker this year.

Over the past few games since Geno blew up at the non starters we've seen UConn at a higher level. We've seen UConn especially the non starters playing with more confidence and at a quicker pace. I dont expect Geno to go more then 7 deep in this game unless late in the 4th qtr the game is put away.

Im looking for a score around 78 - 61 UConn wins. However it may not be that close throughout the game.

TONY: Ahhhhh, how timely ,reassuring and soothing as usual. Blessed with seriously limited talent, I worried when I played and worry now when Our Girls play. This is just what the doctor ordered, Tony - you are a sweetheart. Can now relax and enyoy a nice Manhattan. ( :

Depends on the officials too. If they let the SC players mug us (especially Lou, as most teams are intent on doing) and then call touch fouls on us, it may be a long evening.

I am wondering if the court is going to have a "2017 National Champions" decal on it? Or has one been there all season?

This game will offer UConn the opportunity to check for "leaks". A progress report if you will, to see all of the moving parts are functioning properly against a team, the caliber of which they will see in the tournament. If, as Tonyc suggests, late in the game maybe players further down on the bench will get a change to showcase their personal growth and development to date.

I would like to see the game put away by the 6 minute mark of the 4th quarter, so that starters nursing injuries can sit. Who knows if South Carolina will cooperate or not. Probably not. I would also like to see A'ja Wilson and Tyasha Harris held to 12 points or less. That would really work for me! :D

If UConn comes out high energy then they win easily. If they come out lazy like against Texas, ND, and Miss St last year, they will be very fortunate to leave CoLA with a win.

agreed..............you know Dawn is going to try to get UConn's front line in foul trouble..............hopefully there won't be too much home cooking from the officials..........

From the west coast, I can't see this year's South Carolina team staying within 20 points, unless UCONN ends up with only 4 players left on the floor (due to foul trouble). South Carolina may have the inside game with their star post player, but UCONN can neutralize A'ja in so many ways. South Carolina doesn't have the perimeter game (passing and shooters) to make UCONN pay for double teaming A'ja Wilson.

Like your prediction for the game and how things will go, but I find it odd that you mentioned what 4 starters and 1 sub will do to make life difficult for SC... is Lou not playing? Or will she just rain 3s down on South Carolina all night.

I think most of these predictions are wildly optimistic. The Huskies will be very fortunate to win at all.

Any team that wins is "fortunate." UConn is #1 and is a better team that has beaten higher ranked teams. So I think its not far fetched or wild to think a team that is 152 - 2 in the last 4 seasons or more relevant 49-1 in the past season and 1/2, will win by double digits which they almost always do.

A famous politician,(JFK) once said,"Victory has a thousand fathers and defeat is an orphan,"so lets just go right ahead and start a thread about all the fathers on here and how we will all be celebrating another victory for our favorite team after the game tomorrow nite.:D

Look, I will be pulling for the Huskies 100%. But UConn has three players with limiting or potentially limiting injuries. It’s on the road in a very hostile environment, with the home team anxious to further validate their NC from last season. The Huskies are capable of winning, but if it happens at all, it will be very close. It’s just my opinion, and as such, its worth only what I charged you for it.

Due to the state of the overall heath of the team right now, I find it difficult to predict anything other than a modest victory for UConn. We don't know how healthy and ready to play the injured starters will be, nor do we know how long they will be able to play at their normal level. Will Lou's ankles hold up? Will Dangerfield be able to play 33-40 minutes if needed? Will Gabby's hip hold up? Will she be able to tolerate any pain that may arise? How many minutes can she and the other injured starters be able to give Geno? These are things we don't know. It could be a close game. It could be a blow out. We'll have to wait and see.

I'd be stunned if UCONN lost. Not just surprised but stunned. Close or not close . I'm no good at predicting scores but I think the link below from Massey has it right. Nine out of 10 times UCONN wins.

Games are rarely decided by the refs. But, our team always gets the majority of the bad calls.

I would never have thought that I would see a Geno-coached team called "lazy." Just because a team plays UCONN well doesn't mean that the players should be called lazy.

They're lazy when the other team is making all the hustle plays and you're constantly getting beat to rebounds and loose balls. When you come out of the locker room to start the game looking like you'd rather be anywhere else other than playing in a basketball game, that's lazy. When you come out with less than 100% effort, yup, you guessed it - lazy.

All I will say is watch for Alexis Jennings. No one is talking about her but she's fourth in the country in FG percentage and can score at will if given the opportunity.

Is that #35? I also though Herbert-Harrington has shown glimpses of star talent just needs to be more consistent. I also think the thread is not giving credit to a scrappy team. The crowd will be great and SC will be up for the game. I am anxious to Ty Harris demo to this fan base how good she really is.

UCONN has more than enough weapons inside to balance out A'ja Wilson! And SoCar doesn't have enough star power bigs to effect UCONN on the inside offensively or defensively!
If they stick to their track records UCONN can score in the 80's and SoCar will be in the 60's or 70's! SoCar doesn't play shut-down defense to hold UCONN in the 60's or 70's to win so the chances of SoCar squeezing out something like a 64-60 victory is slim and none!
UCONN has the potential to have Nurse, Williams, Stevens, Katie Lou, Crystal Dangerfield, & Collier, all score in double figures while SoCar only has A'ja maybe to score double figures as Nurse will nullify Harris!
Playing in SoCar with a large home crowd will do nothing to slow down the Huskies! They'll rise to the occasion as they did in SoCar a couple years ago, winning by 20+!
UCONN wins 78 / SoCar 58!

I am glad to read someone else post, who thinks like me. I do not think South Carolina will score in the 60's.
