I think Langer is solidifying his job at third. Playing well.

No question he is getting an extended look at this point. If he gets his average up a bit, he will no doubt keep the job. Defense seems to be coming as well.

I trust Johnson far less than most of our other relievers. The dam will break at some point.

I understand what you are saying, but think of it this way. Despite his control issues, Johnson often finds a way to get out of trouble with not much of anything showing up on the scoreboard. Right now he is doing it with more walks than innings pitch. I really like his potential. If he can get his walks down a bit, he could be something.

That was Chris Winkel. He is driving me nuts. Swung at first pitch in the dirt and struck out on a pitch above his head. They were giving him the run with runner on 3rd and 1 out.

And it really shows up in both his walk total on the year (4) and a poor on base percentage (which in my mind is the most important offensive stat in baseball).

I swear I never complain about umps, but the guy behind home plate has 2 different strikezones for each team.

Johnson digging himself into trouble again in the 6th, with bases loaded with 2 walks included and 1 out.

Huge to escape that jam mostly unscathed, with Wallace available today.

It's called effectively wild. Considering how many walks he had, he didn't give up much. Had some nice D behind him also from Prato which helped.

No question Johnson has some Wills Montgomerie in him with his ability to get out of self created trouble with little damage. It's something I really grew to admire Montgomerie for.

I'd pay for the J.O.C. crew to play the first 30 seconds as he comes out of the bullpen!

Ground ball out makes it 8-6 with 2 out and no one on. Chase Gardner coming in to face a lefty hitter.
