UConn 83-67. Pinot took my score so this seems like a reasonable second place. This is a strange circumstance game, what with the long lay off and the return of two key players. If the refs don't go crazy this will be the best game we face for a long, long time. Make the most of it Huskies!

UCONN 81
Duke 61

Just my $.02... Kaleena and Morgan are back after over a month layoff. Not sure what to expect from them. Both are probably not in "game" shape. I'd be surprised if either played more than 15 or so minutes and not sure what to expect from them.

Duke is averaging close to 90 PPG with 5 players averaging over 10 PPG. They scored 70 in their first game vs. Cal but then put up 99 and 94 against top 20 Purdue and Oklahoma. Problem is they gave up 78 and 85 points respectively.

So bottom line not sure what to make of this game. I wanted to predict a score closer to 72-61 or so, but in giving up so many points against teams I believe are inferior offensively to UCONN, I have a hard time seeing us score much less than Ok or Purdue.

Side note - I also have a hard time imagining that we will beat them by more than Maryland, or PSU, especially if KML and Morgan are limited. So many interesting question marks in this game. I think it's a game that has a lot of pressure on Duke - to keep it close. UCONN has destroyed them lately and they probably feel they need to make a statement.

Any score that UConn wins by 10+ points.
Keeping Duke, the Paper Tigers that they have earned, makes me smile :).

I saw 84-75. I saw some in the low teens. 79-72 UConn. This will not be a blowout. I detect a bit of over confidence. Be careful what you wish for.

Fans being overconfident effect the game? Who knew?

I don't understand the "be careful what you wish for". What are people wishing for?

One last thing. I hope you are as accurate as you were in the Oklahoma Duke game. Duke by 30? Nice one. Maybe YOU are overconfident in Duke?

Uconn 74-59! thinking because of time off we may be a little off offensively and really beat them into submission defensively - with Stokes off the bench alot! On the other hand if Oklahoma could score in the 80's I could be way off - hopefully!

UConn 73-60 Duke

35-30 at halftime. It'll be a 4-10 point game for most of the second half, but they never threaten to take the lead. We pull away gradually and end it with free throws. Not pretty, not dominating, but considering it's #1 @ #2, impressive nonetheless.

78-68 us. A blowout is a lot to ask on the road against the second best team in the country with two of our key players just getting back from injuries.

I think this has it about right. If we were playing them in March, in a neutral arena, I would be more sympathetic with some of the blowout predictions. With UConn not at full strength, in Cameron, I see a very tight first half, with Duke possibly leading by the break. I agree that we'll gradually separate ourselves in the second half, but it will be interesting to see how we can limit them on defense in the post-Kelly era. I know Chelsea must be happy!
