Transfer from internal memory to SIM card

I thought this would be an easy copy/paste to transfer stuff from my cell phone's internal memory to a sim card.

Am I reading they help forums correctly that it requires downloading on to a computer and then on to the sim card?

Are you taking about moving a file from the internal memory card to a removable microSD card? That's easy.

You're not going to be able to transfer data (other than contacts in some cases) to the carrier's SIM card - that's just not what it's for.

What kind of phone?

There's a good file system program you can use, but it doesn't work with everything.
