I loved the thread on winning streaks so here is one for the other teams. I'll start with Caltech Beavers Men's BB with 207 loses in a row and 310 conference loses in a row. And of course, the Chicago Cubs have not won a World Series in 104 years although they played in seven since then. Love to hear other streaks!

I can think of a couple off the top of my head:

* Former Met pitcher Anthony Young who lost 27 consecutive games that he had a decision in.
* Prairie View A&M football team that lost 80 games in a row. (About 8 straight winless seasons)

The Phillies hold baseball's longest losing streak in the modern era: 23 games in 1961. They were also the first (and perhaps only) team (any sport, any level) to have lost 10,000 times. Cubs fans need to quit their bitchin'.

The Pittsburgh Pirates' 20 straight seasons with a losing record, the longest such streak in the history of any of the four major North American sports leagues. The Pirates are off to a good start this year, hoping to break the streak, but they have shown an unusual ability to flop late in the season and end up with a losing record.

My favorite "non-winning streak" was Columbia's 44 game streak from 1983 to 1988 in football, though it also included a pure losing streak of 41 games (first and third games were ties) that beat Northwestern's previous huge accomplishment. I was at a wedding of a member of one of the Disney clan at the Columbia chapel on the day the record was finally broken on October 8th 1988 against Princeton, and the wedding party was interrupted by the Lion marching band storming through with one of the goal posts they had torn down.

Truly a monumental day for humankind.

Washington Generals basketball team, 2,495 straight losses. Red Klotz hit the streak breaking winning basket. His number was subsequently retired. Overall record 6 - 13,000 plus. Top that!:p

For a period, you could almost count on Columbia, Temple, Rice, and Northwestern all losing in football.

CalTech ended their baseball losing streak this year. I wonder if they have a second win.

Rutgers lost 17 straight games to West Virginia from 1994-2012. We even beat them before the Knights did.

Notre Dame also had that 40+ year winning streak vs Navy... Tennessee beat Kentucky for 24 years before losing last year.

The Washington State women's basketball team finished 2006-2007 0-18 and started 2007-2008 0-3 to run up an 0-21 record spanning 2 seasons. For the two season, 2006-2008, Washington State went 3-33 in conference. WSU has its first Pac-10 tournament win ever in March 2012, so it went 0-11 in the Pac-10 tournament before that.

Speaking of which, what BEast team has not w0n a BET game since 9/11?

If you took a wild guess and said Providence, you are absolutely correct, since the Friars' last BET win was over Seton Hall back in March of 2001. Ouch. Maybe the Catholic BEast will get them out of the frying pan.

While not losing per say, Northwestern's 0 NCAA bid streak is really impressive. Especially when we are in the age of the 68 team brackets.Teams regularly schedule creampuff OOC and glide their way into the tourney.

US Men's National Soccer Team. After upsetting England in the 1950 World Cup, didn't qualify for the World Cup again until 1990. 40 years in the World Cup wilderness.

Have made it to every World Cup since though.
