Your Top 3 Things is back with the season opener against Dayton. Certain things, like a win or no injuries, are automatically included for every game. To be specific, here are my Top 3 Things:

1) Getting off the right foot for the season by minimizing turnovers and playing defense without hand fouls.

2) Caroline and Aubrey both shooting and making 3s and pull ups.

3) Everyone running at top speed on the breaks knowing that either Paige, KK or Nika will find you if you are open... because they will.

What are yours?

1. Paige continues to be eased into the rotation. No need to jump to 30+ minutes yet.
2. A combined 30pts and 15reb from Ice and Aaliyah. However it shakes out, it shakes out.
3. Less than 10 turnovers.

I agree about a win and no injuries being givens. Beyond that:

1. Limit fouls and especially turnovers (as noted elsewhere).

2. Shoot 60/50/90 (high expectations).

3. Paige and Azzi show their obvious connection and dazzle the fans at XL.

Mine is the ten - ten - ten rule.

1. Ten fouls or less

2. Ten turnovers or less

3. Everyone gets ten minutes or more of playing time.
Especially at this time of the year. Confidence building possibilities abounds.

1. Freshmen getting time and doing well with it.

2. Let the walks and silly hand fouls go away

3. XL kicks off with $1 stuff.

1) No foul trouble
2) Clean passes with good ball movement
3) The newbies looking a bit more organized than they did in the exhibition match when they're out there on their own

Be shocked if you get your druthers on 3.0, regardless of whether Patterson plays at all

No injuries is a given and should not be included. Everyone here wants no injuries. The same is true of wanting a win.

1. Bueckers and Fudd go off for 20 each.
2 Turnovers limited to less than 15
3. Amari Deberry prove me wrong.

1) No injuries

2) Five or more assists for each of Paige, Nika, and KK. At least a couple for Ines, too

3) Geez, that’s enough for the first game

1) Have the starters play the first 10 minutes. 2) Put in 2 freshmen in the second 10 minutes. 3) put in the other 2 freshmen for the third 10 minutes . Then finish up with everyone rotating. GO FRESHMEN!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!

what happened to Dayton? They were a very good team a few years ago, gave us a hard time in the NCAA tourney. Now they are picked to finish 9th in their league. Look good, stay healthy, have fun.

Last season I always replied to this thread “1. Caroline 2. Caroline 3. Caroline” because I felt this would give us the push we needed, relieve the scoring burden on Aubrey Dorka Lou and Aaliyah, and generally make Nika’s job easier. Well, my wishes didn’t come true often. My answer for this season is:

1. Ayanna because the sooner she returns the tougher our front court play will be

2. Qadence plays 10+ minutes because if she finds a regular place in the rotation that means we’re going deep. I expect KK Ashlynn and Ice to get 10+ mins, so Qadence is the wild card. The more she plays the better the team is doing.

3. Paige gets 10+ assists. I’d love to see her average a double double (and occasionally get a triple double) and I think this would cement her NPOY credentials.

1) Continued good health
2) Aggressive defense and a press that creates turnovers
3) lots of bench minutes

Jim Jabir was a good guy and a good coach. He left in 2016 for health reasons. The team that gave UConn a fight included Ally Mallott, who was a 1st young pick in the WNBA.

1. Being able to watch Paige in a real game for the 1st time in over a year.
2. Ditto #1
3. Ditto #1&2
Yes, she is that good. Watching her live, even just playing defense, is special. She just has an intuitive connection with the game that only the great ones have.
