Here's an insider article ranking top tourney players. Shabazz comes in second.

2. Shabazz Napier | G | Connecticut Huskies

No player is more important to his team than Napier is to UConn. Few players could scarcely conjure up thoughts of Kemba Walker without inducing laughter at the thought, but Napier gets you thinking. He's leading the Huskies in scoring, rebounding (much to the chagrin of the big men) and assists. In his two NCAA tournament games, Napier has averaged 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals. Without Napier, UConn wouldn't be anywhere near the Sweet 16.

What does Jay have to say about the 11 minutes against Nova where Napier was on the bench and the team erased a 10 point or so deficit to go up before halftime? I am certainly not minimizing the importance of Shabazz on the team, as no one can take away the things that he has done. But IMO the supporting cast from Brimah to Samuels is coming together at the right time.

I don't think it's right to put all of our recent success on Bazz. Are we in the sweet 16 without him? No. But we're probably not in the sweet 16 without Brimah, Giffey, Daniels, or Boatright either.

Im just going to throw this out there, but if I were on the team we would already be in the final four.
