Here is a listing of the number of regular season double digit losses by season and worst losses in the Calhoun era. As you can see, double digit losses have occured every year under Jim Calhoun. The St. Bonaventure loss at home in 2001-02 was an ugly one. To put today's loss in perspective, this was one of the worst losses in the Calhoun era. If you look at past season's big margin losses were usually isolated situations surrounded by wins. This year's team is different in that they are in a prolonged slump that is not a common occurence since JC came to UCONN.

Based on the remaining games on the schedule, there is a strong chance that this year's team could tie or break the record of 6 double digit losses set by the 2006-2007 team (I am not counting Calhoun's first season because Calhoun inherited that team and it was a very rough season). The 2006-2007 was probably the worst season under Calhoun when they went 17-14 and 6-10 in the Big East and completely missing the post-season. If the team doesn't come together soon, the record 33 point loss at St. John's in 91-92 could be surpassed on Saturday at Syracuse.

I was particularly dissappointed to see that the team appeared to quit today which is not something Husky fans are used to seeing. The players on this team need to reach down deep and decide which direction they want their season to go from here. I really hope they can right the ship and somehow make the NCAA tournament because nothing is worse for me than March Madness without UCONN. Without UCONN I have no interest in the tourney except to root against Duke and Kentucky.
