This is a tough draw. Round 1 against an experienced coach who knows how to get the best from his team, then VCU or St. Mary’s. Followed by Kansas and UCLA if seeding follows. VCU is a little like Marquette defensively, can give St. Mary’s a game.
Does VCU full court press a lot? If they do that is an interesting match up as St Mary's is one of slowest pace teams in the country

We had 2 good OOC wins this year, and one of them degraded over the last few weeks. It’s not hard to see how we’re a 4.

Oregon, OK St, & Florida all basically stunk.

Watched a little of their game vs Dayton today. They pressure, though not full throated full court press, technically.

When do the game times come out, and where is the place to search for them?

This bracket has 4 of the Kenpom top 9 and 5 of the top 11 -- in that sense it's a very tough region -- but UCLA and Gonzaga won't both be able to play us, and Kansas is not the scariest of the 1 seeds. It will be a challenging bracket with no gimmes, but Iona is a Seton Hall caliber team and we should beat them, Saint Mary's is competitive but beatable, then we're in the Sweet 16 and each game will be a toss-up.

Interesting coaching match up. Who keeps their cool and keeps their team focused? March Madness separates the good from the great.

At least we get the first two games at home. If we can’t beat Iona what’s the difference. Actually could have been worse. Could have been better as well the west has the strongest field when adding combined overall seeds among top four in each region. UCLA has an injured player and Kansas is beatable. It’s amazing they put Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s both in the west 3 and 5 lines. Using that same line of thinking we could have been the 4 seed in east even though Marquette was 2 seed. Every year we gave to overcome this bs Midwest favoritism. Maybe they just gave us the chip we need on our shoulder to break through the ceiling.

For those curious, this is one of the bracket principles:

Each of the first four teams selected from a conference shall be placed in different regions if they are seeded on the first four lines.

Marquette was last 2 so forced into East. This forced us out of East.

At least we’ve got time to prepare for Iona ;)

BTW, they got any lights-out 3 point shooters?
Also, kinda tongue in cheek here. As I wrote in another thread, just treat every game as ‘must win,’ be connected and play your A game. That’ll get ‘er done.

But that should have put them in the South with Alabama
