Further to this post in another thread I wondered how Robertson was tracking versus the career 3pt leaders, still only half way thru her So. season.

Data below shows following other players:

1. Kelsey Mitchell, Ohio St. (2015-18) 3PM 497 - Rank 1st
2. Taylor Pierce, Idaho (2016-19) 3PM 472 - Rank 2nd
3. Jess Kovatch, Saint Francis (PA) (2016-19) 3PM 472 - Rank 3rd
4. Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, UConn (2012-15) 3PM 398 - Rank 8th
5. Shrieka Evans, Grambling (2000-03) 3PM 391 - Rank 11th (Alot 3PM in Fr. & So. years)
6. Katie Lou Samuelson, UConn (2016-19) 3PM 382 - Rank 16th

Robertson is currently averaging 5.28 3PM per game this season (The record is 4.53 3PM in season).

She may go down as the greatest ever combining 3PT % with volume

She has an uncanny ability to get open, and it certainly ain’t because she’s quick.

Her lightning quick release helps. Fun to watch.

Dang that is nuts. Good for her. Only negative is she likely plays in far fewer games at Oklahoma than she would at the likes of UCONN or Ohio State (Mitchell). I also will be surprised if she keeps up that high of a percentage all 4 years. If she keeps it up though and stays healthy she should crush the record.

I thought I would give an update on OP.

List of active leaders in Three Point Field Goals. Note: Every other player in the Top 10 is in their fifth season.

Numbers are after her first 10 games this season, if she players another 20 games this season (same total number of 30 as Fr & So), with her current average of 5.1 3FGM, she will end at 475, 3 FG's ahead of equal second but 22 FG's behind the career leader Kelsey Mitchell.

Of course if she uses her extra year of eligibility.

I think the list is missing a few players since KML is #9 all time according to wikipedia:

Robertson will blow the record out of the water if she uses her covid year, and should also play more games this year/next as Oklahoma appears to be a much better team than they've been the first 3 years of her career.

In my OP I indicated the current rank of those players shown in data, as the list only included the Top 3 plus some other players that people would be familiar with for context (e.g. KML & KLS) and also Evans due to her underclass totals.

@bballnut90 Top 12
Note: Ranks as at start of season.

The NCAA might have to keep a separate record book for 5 year players.

I sense fear that Plum's record might get broken
By? Will Fair stay at Buffalo for 5 years? I don't think anyone is remotely close to closing in on her at the moment. Howard won't be at Kentucky 5 years, she's probably got quite a bit of catching up to do still. Clark, Bueckers, can't see players like that taking that extra year.

Just being playful...but Clark is a viable threat if she can continue to average around 25 per game for her career. Guessing her usage increases when Czinano graduates, but it will be tough to catch Plum and she isn't scoring as much so far this year. If she were to use all 5 years (which I don't expect she will), she'll likely catch Plum.

Ashley Joens has an outside shot if she stays a 5th year and puts up massive numbers, but I'm guessing she'll go pro after this season. Plum's record is likely safe for the foreseeable future.

If you're gonna catch Plum, you either need to be way ahead of her pace thru 3 years or have a hell of a Sr. year. 1100 points, I still can't really get over that.

If Robertson decides to take a fifth year, I wonder if she would consider transferring to a team that’s a title contender.

Can you Imagine her at South Carolina? Not sure if she can play any defense up to the standards of Staley.

If she opts to play a 5th year, I really hope she stays at Oklahoma. They are starting to build something there. Why not stay and be a part of it?

(unless she decided to help out one of my teams, then it's totally cool if she transfers...
)
