Buried among the stats for the Davis game is this: Our Smurfs (the label I used for the short guys on the Patriots teams during the Welker era.....and now use for the short guys on our UCONN team) combined to rack up 13 rebounds of their own last night, equaling Stewarts record-tying performance.

Don't have the figures in front of me, but I think it was pretty close to: Chong 6, Banks 4, Jefferson 3, give or take one here or there. But the total did equal Stewarts 13. Pretty impressive, I'd say....and all three Smurfs are back next year to help fill the rebound gap caused by Dolson and Hartley graduations. Would be interesting to look back and see how their totals look per game so far this season.

Another example of the coaching teaching each to be a complete player. They expect each player to do what needs to be done,to succeed in games, and all three girls mentioned are learning and applying what is being taught. This team is loaded with unselfish, team girls, and it is a joy to be a fan of this style of play!

JR: Interesting for sure. So, not unusual that the short folks combined to equal Stewart last night, except perhaps that it was on a night when she set or tied her personal record. Did you happen to figure Dolson's per game?

All these figures come from a spreadsheet I maintain. These particular data come from the Summary tab, but the same information is also calculated for each game separately. If interested, you can find the spreadsheet here.
