Assessment after watching 1st game: Tall, mobile quarterback, very accurate in short passing game. Needs work on the long fade route as he puts too much air under the ball which resulted in 2 INTs in today's Apple Classic vs. Cheshire.

Neat comparison tool, Kris. I like TD:INT ratio as a QB stat and Basil's 35:4 is far better than the other three. Boyle for instance is 12:6.

thanks for the report cap! sound slike a good looking prospect. its cool to see multiple qbs in ct same year that are going to be sought after. the whole state prospect wise is on a #uptick :D

Here is a statistical comparison of arguably the top QBs in CT. I really like Basil from North Branford. He's a tremendous player and a great athlete. Marchi's stats don't include last nights statistics.

great link thanks. all of them look impressive and have the size. love it for the state. i have been going on and on about how 2014 is the deepest its ever been rb wise in ct. but maybe this is just a stellar class as when was the last time we were talking about multiple qbs going bcs? on top of these 3 2014 kids there was a kid at prep that transfered to fitch or some prep school in ct and is now 15 class after reclassifying. LOADED STATE!!!

One other item gleaned from around town: Has taken unofficial visits to UConn. Is visiting Yale in the near future. Has the grades. VERY interested in the Elis. Just scuttlebut heard at the game-not sure of the accuracy.

If he's got the grades and test scores (the standards are extremely high so that is often in question even for strong students) he looks like a great Ivy League candidate. In fact, if he's just emerging, perhaps too late for the FBS teams, he could be a standout. Yale gives incredible aid so, unless his family is loaded, he might do almost as well financially as if he got a scholarship.

Competition is a big difference between Basil and Boyle. I have seen Boyle a few times and my big complaint about him is thinking he can throw the ball into triple coverage from time to time. He has a cannon and can make all the passes.

A side note on his recruiting. He had BC and Florida in his final two. Family in both states, but the idea of being close to his immediate family is why he stayed locally, plus his girlfriend
