If anyone is interested, I am selling a 2004 UConn Motor City Bowl Champions Player's Ring. As you all know, this was our first bowl game and first season in the Big East. Going 8-4 on the season with the win over Toledo 39-10 lead by Dan Orlovsky.

This thread will draw some interesting comments. I only hope it was not given up by a player down on his luck and had to pawn it.

Wasn't he the Pütz that tried to sell his playbook over the internet when he decided to leave the team?

I don't know about that, BL. Was that a thing back then? I just looked at the EBay ad, googled the name on the ring and connected the dots to his link to the team. You telling me he had a little Jerry Rodgers in him?

This thread got me thinking about that 2004 team and that 1st Bowl Game. I was at every game aside from the one at Georgia Tech.

I just looked up that season's stats and am ashamed to admit I'd forgotten what an absolute stud Cornell Brockington was in 04'.

This thing even made of gold?

1k is a high price for a backup QB's Motor Bowl ring.

Can you wear this without accusations of stolen valor?

He knew it - the playbook - woukd be worth something because after Dan O, the playbook was simplied to: Run right, Run left, Run up the middle, and punt.

TD Husky, wiping out 4 straight winning seasons and bowl appearances and 2 co-conference championships. Why? Because he didn't like the style of play.

Sigh, brings back good times. The team winning more than they lost and dummies complaining about it.

What I said is, the run, run, run offense would not be in UConn's best interest in the long run. Certainly looks like it may have been a big contributor. I did believe - and still do - that the style of play matters to programs that are annually not Top 10, Top 20.

We're not going to be top 10 or 20 annually with Edsall as the coach. I am sure offensive creativity will be stressed in the next hire, which some of us won't even live to see.

Should have hired Mike Leach.

How about we don’t average giving up 40 points a game before we start talking about ranking

Shouldn't be a problem for Randy to rebuild since it's his forte.

I think edsall’s biggest problem at UCONN isn’t that he’s a bad coach, he does like to micromanage the offense, but I think that’s more from lack of confidence in other areas. The biggest problem is the moment our OC gets any semblance of success they have immediately been poached. Ambrose, Moorhead, etc...They need to increase assistant pools to try to keep success coordinators hear
