Seeing Twitter activity about Wolfpack Subsidy

seeing a bunch of activity on twitter regarding the Rangers asking the State of CT for a subsidy of $3 Million. I hope this is just the water cooler rumor mill at its best...because if it isn't this is the beginning of the end to the Wolfpack in Hartford.

I wouldn't trust howlings.net Gerry Cantlon at all. However, 1.55 in 2018-2019 and 1.6 in 2019-2020 is too much $$$. Highest affiliate fee in the AHL.

The XL loses 3 million a yr with the WP and UConn. All those 41 games cost $. Cut the Wolfpack and get better dates for UConn basketball and hockey. Maybe you can book more concerts with more open dates. Concerts are the $ maker. Maybe with the new Casino deal in EW, they'll throw some more concerts to the XL.

I think they are strong arming the city so they can eventually blame Hartford on not accepting the deal and just move the affiliate to Albany.

If true, this would be a ridiculous deal for the state and the city. Based on average attendance and a ballpark cost of $20 per ticket, the Wolf Pack barely generate $3 million per year in ticket revenue. Adding the cost of facility maintenance, staffing games, etc. to the $3 million that would add up to a net loss really fast. I can't imaging the WP generate much in revenue beyond those ticket sales.
