Not a great athlete or all that physically gifted but he can play. I really like his pullup game, he can come down at full speed stop on a dime and hit threes or use the step back, his release is really quick (not saying he's Bazz but the shot looks Bazz-like.) He has a nice feel for the game. I really like having him learning the system for a year.

RJ is a shifty guard, little hesitations, change of speed, change of direction. He's crafty and confident and he is a natural scorer. Only needs a little bit of space and he gets his shot off.

I think R.J. unlike some low level players is getting by with skill vs ridiculous athleticism/size. That will ease the transition in its own IMO

What are you guys so worried about? R.J. dropped 28 pts and 6 assists vs Georgetown last year. Yes he won’t be getting as many minutes but he’ll be just fine.

Yes. His stats vs high majors were solid, despite being the only real offensive option on his team.

This, along with his play style, make me confident he will be able to contribute. Shooting doesn't change. His passing ability will translate.

He was also recruited by some better schools. RJ is also a hell of a lot better than every one of these transfers.

A better measure (imo) of his possible a ility would be to look at transfer rankings. See where guards of a similar ranking went on to do. Never checked into this though.

Great work tcf

This doesn't make me very optimistic. But hopefully RJ is better than these guys, and the best of the bunch did average double digit points at a Big East school so, that's something.

You must not be aware of the high level of defensive play in the MEAC.

Alterique is actually the best PG on the team. Expect a big year coming up

Alterique is really good. But not as natural of a passer as Cole, not as decisive IMHO. Although if I'm being honest its 1A/1B so not like a huge differentiation.

The one undeniable fact is that having RJ Cole and Alterique practicing against each other every day will raise both their games. Those must be some fun scrimmages.
