I think Rip was our most complete offensive player. He always had a sense of where and when he could get his shot off, could break down any defender off the dribble, and was a good enough jump shooter that you had to close on him quickly.

I've said it before here....Rip is the one guy that, every time he shot, I thought it was going in.

Agreed. From up close, his release looked like he was gently placing the ball in the hoop.

And he had a relentless motor. Never stopped moving. Made his defenders give up on covering all his cuts. And THEN made them pay for it...

I saw this team play live at Syracuse. Syracuse hung around in the first half but in the second half OMG. It was like the court was slanted downhill for Uconn. They just ran Syracuse into the ground. Rip was amazing but so was Ricky Moore and El Amin.
