This should be interesting to see how this moves forward. Typically, elite prospects aren't called up to ride the bench and play only in spot duty...but the Rangers claim that is the case wih Olt. I am interested to see how this works out. It was definately weird to wake up this morning and see in most of my fantasy baseball leagues that someone had picked up Olt off of free agency...not too often you see UConn players in fantasy baseball. Hopefully this is just the start and I can be drafting Olt, Barnes, and Springer on my fantasy teams in 2 years!
Twitter lit up this morning w/ congrats from all his formaer baseball team mates and other UConn athletes. Buster Olney says he's starting tonight.
How cool was that... Pretty classy of CJ Wilson to toss the ball to the Ranger's dugout. He's already been poked @ by the irreverant MLB Meme Facebook page/Twitter Feed (can't get the dang picture to post) http://www.facebook.com/TheMLBMemes?sk=photos#!/photo.php?fbid=10150970675245248&set=o.212208148880056&type=3&theater
I like the ESPN tag line - Over and Olt! ... and it seems like everytime he gets mention Connecticut/UConn gets mention.
yeah... was @ game last night. was hoping for at least a oinch hit opportunity. didn't start tomnight either that i saw.
Olt didn't look too hot when I saw him at Fenway. Struck out twice and when the Rangers had people on base. Did end up getting a hit, but that was by the time everyone under the sun could hit Lester that night.
