You can have Tiffany Mitchell as second guard behind Moriah, I'll take Courtney Williams from USF. That woman can flat out play. UCONN and Moriah couldn't stop her. If I interviewed Moriah my first question would be what guard gave you the most problems? And if she chose anyone other than her I would be surprised.

I agree with you there. That girl is a flat out baller and the best scoring guard in WCBB.

. Johnson hasn't proven to be a reliable offensive threat, so once she hits the pros defenses will sag off of her unless she improves her jump shot and scoring ability.

Neither had Stokes coming out of college, yet her first season in the WNBA was pretty successful. There are a lot of teams that have backup PGs that cannot take care of the ball and rarely rack up any assists, therefore they get very little playing time. Johnson may not be on the same level as a Sloot or Whalen, but there is certainly a place in the WNBA for a solid guard that can pass to the "stars" and take care of the ball, while also scoring a few points along the way.

I would love to see her in Phoenix where the PGs seems either incapable or unwilling to pass the ball to Griner. They are so worried about getting their looks that they take some horrible shots, which are as bad as turnovers.

ETT - I like your defense of Johnson who I think is a very good point guard and who suits Kim's offense to a T and will get drafted by a team looking for similar production.
I do think her scoring ability at the next level will be the make or break issue with how successful she can be as a pro, and it (like with Kiah) is going to be a 'wait and see' situation, because it hasn't yet been shown in college consistently. Both WNBA and foreign teams want scoring production from all five players, and very few teams are good enough and well enough coached to use wing/guard 'specialists' efficiently. Kelly Faris being a player I think could thrive on the 'right' team, but is borderline on her current team.

It will be interesting to see. If I were in that position I would choose to go out on a high note with my four consecutive titles and degree and graduate with my classmates and start the next phase of my life.

I found it interesting to hear that Tuck and Geno have had this conversation and that Geno told her that he does not expect her return but that she is welcome to return if she wants to. That is very classy of him not to put pressure on her for selfish reasons and makes me respect Geno even more.
The personna of Geno goes way beyond what people see in the pressers. He never gave EDD a hard time about her decision although many fans did. In fact I can't recall any transfer request that was not granted though he could have held some of them up. Is he the coach for everyone? Most assuredly not! In his 31st year at UConn he's had how many transfer? I am guessing but 10 or so? As has been covered many times most of those leaving were people who were not getting the PT they may have thought they deserved. I can recall three that were other reasons, EDD, Samarie Walker, and the Sherwood girl. DellaDonne's story is now well known (hoop burnout), Walker wanted to be closer to home, and as I have understood it Sherwood could/would not embrace the conditioning program that had been laid out for her. Some yahoo made wild accusations that he then refused to backup with facts. This after claiming I think that he was a UConn fan. I try to be open to having my opinion of something changed, all I need to get is something that looks like facts that can support the "other" side. As Joe Friday (how many of you know who that was?) use to say, "just the facts Ma'am"

Thanks, UCM, for a very objective analysis. And thank you for visiting the Baylorfans.com. It is so nice to have some fresh opinions that get the Baylor fans thinking a bit differently. I wish more fans would visit the board, although we do tend to brag about and gush over our players a lot. We love our Lady Bears! I know that my time hanging with the UCONN fans here has made me think about WCBB in a whole new light and has made me a better fan of the game.

I enjoy checking in on the Baylor site though I visit a little less frequently and post a lot less frequently than when we were playing every year. It is a well run site with interesting discussions and knowledgeable and generally well behaved fans who welcome outside opinions if they aren't to obstreperous. :) But it is surprising to me how high they are on Baylor WBB, you might even think most were in some way emotionally invested in the Bears team if not outright connected to the school itself - can't imagine why!

Morgan has said she will return for her 5th year. Since the draft is only a week after the season ends, she doesn't have a lot of time to decide.

She has about 4+ months to think about it. I am sure that by the end of the season she will know which direction her heart is pulling her.

I hope whichever way her heart is pulling her her knees can take her.
