This "should" be a tune up for the Sweet 16. If the team comes out focused and efficient, Geno may give the bench some significant minutes. He has typically shortened the roster for the big show. He may be more cautious with his starters this year so the bench may play more if he is satisfied with what he sees from the core 7, so the MOV may be less than expected.

UConn 88, Vermont 50.

This first game will be a "walk-through" for UConn. An opportunity to shake off some rust and cobwebs after their much-needed 10 days off, and get ready for their round 2 game against the winner of Baylor/Alabama.

UConn 84
Vermont 48

They lost to Indiana by 37 in November. I think that's about right for the MOV. We're at home, and I hope the students are loud. They shoot the 3 well,

so I'll go with 90-55.

We are back to a running team.

UConn 88, Vermont 51. Taking the foot off the gas a bit in the second half...

UConn 91 - Catamounts 55

Extra credit prognostications: Uconn commits 24 turnovers trying to make each possession a highlight, Nika scores 16, kiss my men's bracket goodbye.
