16. If this is what I'm thinking of, it involves risk and belief in God: basically, from the perspective of one's eternal soul, it is a better bet to believe in God than not to. The thinking is that one who believes in God but turns out to be wrong has given up little, but one who does not believe in God and turns out to be wrong has given up much more.

16. Pascal's wager is based upon the absolutely invalid idea that "belief" is a matter of conscious volition; i.e., that a person can choose whether or not to believe something. This is a fallacy. One can choose to act as if one believes, but not to believe or disbelieve. Belief or disbelief comes from outside the individual. It may be rational (a consideration of the evidence for and against) or irrational (being so conditioned to believe that something is true that subsequent evidence is unable to cast doubt on that certainty), but it is not something that one can "choose".

14..Jimbo, K9 & zorro state, Dr. Livingston, I presume. Wait, that's the wrong Stanley.
By the way, does anyone name their kid "Stanley" anymore?

15..Yes Pinot...a great day.

16..And I would add that one can tell by the lifestyle of another, whether that person believes in God.
See Jimbo & zorro's consideration.

17..Elephants joyously hauled trees in Burma. Not so much in Myanmar.

18..The Drive Quartet with the Dixie Chicks, um, no the Andrew Sisters. Oh, help me out here. I know they were off-key.

19..Ine, zorro & K9, all who reach for the needle when day is done.

20..Jimbo & zorro say an Octavian(us) by any other name would smell as sweet. Tell that to his 2 buddies in the 2nd triumvirite.

21..Ine's running with the hints (see below) with Aly McBeal.

24..And he' s OK with S. Amer. also.

23..Jimbo with the educated guess of Frederic Chopin.

22..An unmasked duo in K9 & JR revel in Venezia.

25..Pinot & VAUC rightfully select Omar the tent-maker Bradley.

Overall you are 19 & 5/6. You've been better, but only seldom worse. Must have left your brains in Columbia.
